Vocational Rehabilitation programs assist people with disabilities to achieve and maintain meaningful employment. Voc Rehab may include the following:
  • Vocational Counseling and Guidance • A Vocational Rehabilitation counselor will work individually with the client to provide support and assistance as he/she works toward reaching the job goal.
  • Medical/Psychological Treatment • You may be referred for services from a doctor or therapist to help reduce factors related to your disability that may be getting in the way of a successful employment outcome.
  • Training and Education • There are a number of training options which may be utilized, depending on your abilities and employment goal, such as: • On the Job Training • Self-Employment • Supported Employment • Short-Term, Vocational Training • College or University-based education
  • When you are ready for work, you and your counselor will determine what services may be needed to obtain a job. These services could include: • Job Coaching •On-the-Job Training • Referral to an employment service
